For the past couple of weeks, paparazzi have been angling to get photos of the opulent Beverly Hills mansion pop star/defendant Michael Jackson is renting.

With considerably less hassle, people can see the inside of the 37,000-square-foot manse themselves Wednesday night (Jan. 21). The house, behind two gates on a hill in the Coldwater Canyon area, is a featured location in the next episode of ABC's romance series "The Bachelorette."

In the episode, Bachelorette Meredith Phillips goes on a one-on-one date with Rick, a 28-year-old businessman from San Diego, after presenting him with a white rose in last week's premiere. The date, filmed in November, took them to a "Hollywood mansion" -- coincidentally, the one Jackson is now leasing, an ABC source says.

Phillips, speaking by phone with Zap2it.com, describes the house as "very ostentatious." She and her date ate dinner there and rolled a few frames on the house's two-lane bowling alley.

"The coolest thing was the dining room -- it has a clear floor, so you can see the pool on the level below," Phillips says with a laugh. "Everything is outsized."

According to various press reports, Jackson is paying between $70,000 and $100,000 a month to lease the nine-bedroom, 16-bathroom mansion as he awaits trial on charges of child molestation. Jackson pleaded innocent to the charges at his arraignment last week in Santa Barbara County, 90 miles north of his new digs.

Taking a break from a magazine photo shoot, Phillips says she's still adjusting to the demands of starring in a reality show. She doesn't have any regrets, however, about doing "The Bachelorette" after being one of the final four women on the most recent edition of "The Bachelor."

"I had such a good time," she says, "and I'm really, truly happy with the guy I'm with now."

"The Bachelorette" airs at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday on ABC.
